My Mom is 87 years old, a little hard of hearing and English is not her first language. Mom lives with us and thinks that if someone is calling it must be important and/or urgent. As Norm and I both have cell phones and all our friends and business associates contact us directly, the home phone was for mother's use.
So when the phone rang she would run and sometimes trip and we were always telling her that if she didn't answer people would leave messages but to no avail. Our main concern was her safety. So our solution, disconnect the home line and purchase Mom her own personal cell phone. She was so happy, because it was pink, in a pink case with bling-blings. AND, she could wear it on her hip like Norm and I.
So now, she doesn't run, doesn't get confused with the recorded calls and her children, grandkids and great-grandkids can contact at any time. Thank you Lisa for the great service ! But, best of all, thank you for the after service calls.
