Why is my wireless bill so high?
Consumers shopping for a wireless rate plan are always looking for the "best deal". They want the plan that is going to cost them the least amount each month. I hear it all the time, I have 200 minutes, free evenings and weekends, voicemail and call display and it only costs me $20 per month. "Yeah right."
The Average Revenue Per Unit reported in Q2 2007 for TELUS was $57.07. That means the average consumer spent almost $60 for their monthly wireless bill.
The majority of those consumers most likely are on the great rate plan described above and are paying $0.35 per minute for the additional 100 minutes that they are using, or an additional $35 per month. The problem is most consumers do not understand how to read their wireless bill and are in denial about how much they actually use their cell phone.
Save money in 2008! Take a look at your cell phone bills from 2007. Don't just look at one, look at several. Take a look at your included minutes, and your chargeable minutes. Are you going over every month? If so, by how many minutes? Figure out what your averages are and instead of looking for the "best deal" go look for a rate plan that matches what your average usage is. You will save money, I guarantee it.
If you are not going over consider yourself one of the lucky consumers. Most of the consumers that we help save money have been over spending for months. Don't become a statistic, take a look at your bill, and if you need help, ask. If you can't get the type of help you need from the person who sold you your phone let me know, we offer complimentary rate plan analysis to anyone who asks. But don't be one of those consumers who pay too much in 2008, take control of your cell bill without compromising your usage.
